The Greenbrier Challenge will once again be the Maryland State Championship race and award USAC State Champion Titles and Medals to the top three (3) Annual Licensed finishers in each class. State medals and titles will be awarded to Annually Licensed MD State Residents Only.
Beginner and Sport Classes
For the Beginner and Sport classes there will be three (3) award ceremonies following immediately after the others for that class:
- For the first ceremony for each class, Both USAC Annual Licensed and One-Day Licensed riders in each class will be eligible for the Race medals and prizes. The number of medal/prize award positions for each class are listed on the Classes & Purse page of this website, on the Bikereg.com event page, and in the race flyer.
- For the second ceremonies for each class, the top three (3) USA Cycling Annual Licensed Riders from Maryland are eligible for the Maryland State Championship titles and medals.
- For the third ceremony, the top three (3) USA Cycling Annual License holders from any State will receive Regional Championship medals and titles.
Expert and Pro Classes
For the Expert and Pro classes, there will be two (2) award ceremonies. Regional Championship medals and cash prizes will be awarded in a ceremony for each class. State Championship medals will then be awarded to the top three (3) racers from Maryland in each class.
Marathon, Clydesdale and Single Speed Classes
For the Marathon, Clydesdale and Single Speed Classes there will be just one award ceremony, since USA Cycling State and Regional Championship titles/medals will not be awarded. The 2015 marathon race will not be run as a specific-distance type of USAC marathon event but rather as a timed event (like a 24 hour race format) since the course must be assured to be clear for the Pro/Expert part of the day’s races. Both USAC Annual Licensed and One-Day Licensed riders in the Marathon, Clydesdale and Single Speed Classes race will be eligible for Race medals and prizes.
